Under the esteemed patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court, the festival promises to celebrate the UAE's age-old tradition of harvesting palm dates, an integral part of the nation's authentic Emirati heritage.

The festival, organized by the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee – Abu Dhabi, is anticipated to be a true reflection of the Year of Sustainability. This year's edition also echoes the visionary directive of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, highlighting the importance of supporting sustainable agricultural practices and the preservation of the nation's rich heritage.

Emphasizing the significance of the event, Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, the Commander-in-Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) and Chairman of the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee, expressed that the Liwa Date Festival continues to honour the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The festival embodies his vision for the development of the agricultural sector and the preservation of the historical significance of the palm tree, which remains deeply intertwined with Emirati heritage.

Recognizing the efforts and dedication of Sheikh Mansour, Al Mazrouei praised his unwavering support for the festival. Over the years, this support has played a pivotal role in transforming agriculture into a cherished cultural aspect among the members of society, while also contributing to achieving food security and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

In addition to Sheikh Mansour's contributions, Al Mazrouei extended gratitude to Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region. His continuous involvement, tireless follow-up, and insightful directives have been instrumental in enhancing the festival's offerings, ensuring the development of valuable activities and engaging competitions.
