Speaking on occasion, the CM stated that due to rainfall and floods in several parts of the state between July and October, nearly 45,998 farmers of agricultural and horticultural crops suffered crop losses and that to assist them, they were remitting input subsidies of nearly '40 crore into their bank accounts even before the end of the Kharif 2022 season.
The Chief Minister maintained that their government initiated a new practise of providing input subsidies to affected farmers during the same crop loss season and that so far, 1,834 crores had been given to benefit 21,31,000 farmers since their government took power in the state.
The Chief Minister stated that "160.55 crores to benefit 8,22,411 farmers was remitted into the bank accounts of farmers who raised loans during the rabi and Kharif seasons in 2021 and paid the loans promptly. He said they implemented zero-interest rate loans to farmers for the third consecutive year after collecting e-crop data and conducting social audits. So far, '1,834.55 crores has been paid to 73.88 lakh farmers, including unpaid arrears by the previous Telugu Desam regime.
Jagan Mohan Reddy slammed Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu for duping farmers by promising to waive off '87,612 crores but only releasing '15,000 during his five-year tenure. He also blamed him for withdrawing zero-interest loans to farmers, causing hardships as they were forced to pay interest on interest for availing farm loans from banks.
He claimed that their government had given farm loans totaling '25,971 crores under the Rytu Bharosa Scheme in the last three years. The Chief Minister stated that their government implemented a free crop insurance scheme for farmers and linked it to RBKs, with the state government paying a premium for the insurance scheme based on e-crop data, and that so far, '6,685 crores has been paid to farmers who suffered crop loss under the scheme.
The Chief Minister claimed credit for bringing in nearly 10,778 RBKS that provided quality and certified fertilisers, seeds, and pesticides to help farmers avoid crop loss due to using substandard quality inputs, and added that village agriculture assistants were enlisted to assist farmers in receiving all crop cultivation support.
