The Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers’ Cooperative Society (APCO) has taken an innovative decision to grab global share of the market in the wake of the increasing demand. It has decided to begin production of organic handlooms.

APCO will train handloom weavers in the use of organic dyes and techniques in this regard. APCO has also decided to procure organic dyes made from base materials extracted from neem, pomegranate, sweet orange, orange, sandalwood, and haritaki (karakkaya).

They intend to use yarn made with zero usage of chemicals to produce the organic varieties.
