For the government, farmers have always been the top priority. Many schemes and programmes have been launched for the benefit and welfare of farming community. Even in this Covid-19 pandemic, government ensured that farmers do not face any difficulty and thus it had released the first instalment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan) before scheduled time. It is important to mention that PM-Kisan is one of the most beneficial government schemes for farmers of the country.
Every year, under the PM Kisan yojana, a financial help of Rs. 6000 is given to crores of farmers in the country. Under this scheme, farmers get direct benefit transfer (DBT) benefit, which means money reaches in their bank accounts directly. The scheme that was launched by PM Modi in 2019 has become a popular scheme amongst farmers in the country.
To become a beneficiary of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, farmers must have;
-
Agricultural land in their name

PM Kisan Money to Increased Soon
Recently the Swaminathan Foundation said that farmers don’t get any benefit from Rs. 6000 in a year that too when the situation around is so severe and difficult. Hence it has asked the government to increase the money from Rs. 6000 to Rs. 15000 in a year. If the proposal gets approved then the farmers will get Rs. 5000 instead of Rs. 2000 (in each instalment). And with this increased or additional PM-Kisan money they can do many things that they were not able to do with the earlier amount.
