On the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel disbursed Rs1,804 crore to roughly 26.68 lakh beneficiaries in the state through schemes connected to a rural farm and cattle-based economy.
"In the last three years, the Chhattisgarh government has taken various beneficial efforts for the welfare of farmers and impoverished sectors of the community," Baghel remarked at the virtual event. Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana, Suraji Gaon Yojana, Narva-Garwa-Ghurwa-Bari programme, Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park, procurement of 65 types of minor forest produce on support price, increase in Tendupatta collection rate, and establishment of C-Mart are just a few of the initiatives that have been implemented. To make each scheme and programme more successful, we are continually increasing its reach."
Baghel virtually released the amount to farmers, landless agricultural laborers, livestock farmers, and women Self-Help Groups associated with Gauthans, a programme organized at his office in Raipur. While expressing his appreciation, Baghel stated that Chhattisgarh is the first state in India to implement the Nyay Yojana, which ensures "economic and social justice for everybody."
Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Baghel distributed Rs 1,720.11 crore to farmers cultivating key Kharif and horticultural crops such as Kodo, kutki, and ragi. According to the Chhattisgarh government's projections, the entire distribution for the current fiscal year will be Rs 6,900 crore.
Under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana, Baghel distributed Rs 71.84 crore to about 3.55 lakh landless agricultural laborers. According to the state administration, this grant has been increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000.
He also handed Rs 13.31 crore to cow dung vendors under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, a scheme to promote organic agriculture and animal husbandry by procuring cow dung from farmers. Gauthan committees and women SHGs would receive Rs 11.14 crore, while cow dung collectors will receive Rs 2.17 crore.
In addition, the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana has given out Rs 11.14 crore to farmers in the previous two years. In total, CM Baghel distributed Rs 1 lakh crore to farmers, landless laborers, forest produce collectors, and Godhan Nyay Yojana, recipients.
