The Chhattisgarh government announced on Tuesday that small and marginal farmers will be eligible for zero-interest, short-term loans of up to Rs 3 lakh for horticulture, fishery, and cow rearing.

Ravindra Choubey, the minister of agriculture, and Mohammed Akbar, the minister of transport, stated on Tuesday said that the announcement came after the cabinet approved a proposed adjustment to the rules governing interest subsidies for loans from farmers’ cooperatives.

According to Choubey, the allotment of 3.14 acres of land in Sector 19, Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar for the construction of a Krishi Bhawan to accommodate all the related departments of agriculture was also authorized by the Cabinet.

The Ministers gave a press briefing on the decisions made by the cabinet.

Additionally, it was determined to use the resources of other departments to construct paved roads along the irrigation canals' service banks, according to Choubey.

According to the Minister, approval was given to build an 810 MW (DC)/675 MW (AC) solar power plant with the goal of supplying solar energy to the agricultural feeders.
