As a result, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi-NCR had reached very severe category last week, forcing administration to close schools.  To control stubble burning that is the main cause of rising air pollution, the Central as well as state government have implemented many plans and strategies. In this regard, the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has also made an important decision.

According to a statement released by Uttar Pradesh government, farmers who are found burning crop residues will not be given the financial assistance of Rs. 6000 per year under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The statement said the funding will be stopped for those already registered under PM Kisan scheme.

Yogi government took this decision to reduce rising air pollution in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

A penalty of Rs. 5,000 will be charged for burning stubble

It further said that a fine will be imposed on farmers involved in burning stubble. A farmer with less than an acre of land would be fined Rs 2500 if he is found burning crop residues. Those having more than one acre of land will have to pay a fine of Rs 5000. Not only this government will be very strict with farmers who are found breaking the norms and causing air pollution.

PM Kisan 13 Installment Date

The government released the last installment under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on 17 October 2022 during an event in New Delhi. More than 8 crore farmers received the benefit of the scheme. However, there are few who didn’t receive the money due to incomplete or wrong documentation.

As per media reports, the government is likely to release the 13th or next installment of PM Kisan very soon. Last year the financial aid was released in January so this time also, it is projected that PM Modi will disburse the 13th installment of PM Kisan in January 2023.
