Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off the 3-day Global Ayush Investment & Innovation Summit (GAIIS) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on April 20, 2022. This Summit, the most important event of the Ministry of Ayush for 2022, will bring together industry leaders, academicians, and scholars to discuss ways to promote traditional medicines and systems.

About Global Ayush Investment & Innovation Summit

The Summit will include 5 plenary sessions, 8 roundtables, 6 workshops, 2 symposiums, 90 eminent speakers, and 100 exhibitors. Speakers and diplomats from embassies, industries, and top corporations will be present. There will also be a number of initiatives to boost Ayush exports to international markets.

One of the Summit's goals is to attract lucrative investments to help India become the world's Global Ayush Destination. Due to the absence of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) restrictions, India has seen massive investments in recent years.

The Ayush Ministry intends to build on this and use the platform to launch targeted initiatives to promote the recognition and growth of traditional medical systems.

Union Minister of Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal expressed his views on the event announcements, saying, "We are proud to announce the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit 2022, which will bring together the country's leading start-ups, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and other national and international stakeholders for a specially curated event on innovation and entrepreneurship to help India become a Global Ayush Destination."

The current market size of the Ayush sector has grown at a rate of 17% per year from 2014 to 2020, and we hope to expand the sector's success even further through these flagship events and initiatives."

Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai Kalubhai, MoS for Ayush, stated, "When we are healthy and balanced, we are able to fulfill our dreams and share our responsibility as members of society." The Ayush system emphasizes the importance of diet in maintaining health. It has advocated for a number of simple practices that can assist us in reconnecting with our true selves."

The inaugural ceremony for the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine will also take place on April 19th in Jamnagar, Gujarat. This centre will become an international hub of global wellness, propelling traditional medicine systems around the world to new heights. It will also provide assistance to WHO member countries in order for positive health to spread throughout the world.
