Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (12th September 2019) will dedicate the 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana', a pension scheme to the nation from Ranchi in Jharkhand.
Under the PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana, all the small and marginal farmers in the age group of 18 to 40 years will receive Rs 3,000 pension monthly after completing 60 years of age. Earlier, Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das had said that Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana is being introduced as a "social security to the farmers".
In addition to this, PM will be launching the 'Pradhan Mantri Laghu Vyaparik Maandhan Yojana' as well as 'Swarojgar' pension schemes wherein beneficiaries between 18 years and 40 years will get Rs 3,000 per month after reaching the age of 60.
Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stones online for 462 Eklavya Model Schools across the nation, out of which 69 will be set up in 13 of Jharkhand's 24 districts.
Modi will also inaugurate the multi-model vessel terminal that is built on the banks of River Ganga in Sahebganj district.
CM of Jharkhand Raghubar Das, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda, Governor Draupadi Murmu, State Agriculture Minister Randhir Singh and MP Sanjay Seth will be present at Prabhat Tara Ground for the launch of the schemes.
About PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana scheme
The much-needed Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (pension scheme) will secure the lives of as many as 5 crore small & marginal farmers of the country by providing them a minimum pension of Rs 3,000 per month, after attaining the age of 60. The pension scheme has an outlay of Rs 10,774 crore for the next 3 years.
To recall, in September last year (2018), PM Modi had launched the 'Ayushman Bharat' health scheme from Ranchi.
The big announcement (for farmers) by Modi Government has come just months before Legislative Assembly polls in Jharkhand.
