Rythu Bharosa Scheme: Know the Features, Eligibility, Documents Required and Method to Apply

The Chief Minister said that “The scheme will change the history of cultivators in the state. This is the maximum support provided to farmers out of all 29 states of the country” adding that his government has launched the scheme 8 months earlier than promised.

Andhra Pradesh CM, Jagan Mohan Reddy on 15th October 2019 launched his flagship ‘Rythu Bharosa’ scheme that provides a cash incentive for farm inputs in Nellore district.

The Chief Minister said that “The scheme will change the history of cultivators in the state. This is the maximum support provided to farmers out of all 29 states of the country” adding that his government has launched the scheme 8 months earlier than promised.

Jagan also released an amount of Rs 3,785 crore towards 38 lakh growers in the state. With enrolments continuing till 15th November, the number of beneficiaries is likely to increase. The amount will be deposited by Wednesday (16th October 2019), he said.

To recall, the farmer welfare scheme was one amongst the nine key promises made by the YSRCP in its election manifesto. The CM also announced that within this year farm input stores will be started at the village level, where good quality seeds, pesticides & fertilisers will be made available so that cultivators do not suffer losses due to adulterated inputs.

Also it is important to mention that the YSR Rythu Bharosa replaces the previous TDP government’s ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ scheme that was introduced in February 2019 in the run-up to the elections.

Benefits of Rythu Bharosa

Under Rythu Bharosa scheme, land holder farmers owning up to 5 acres will be given with an annual benefit of Rs 13,500.

Landless cultivators or tenant farmers from SC, ST, BC and minority groups are also eligible for the incentive. The amount includes the annual benefit of Rs 6,000 per family provided by the Centre under the PM KISAN Yojana.

A government order issued on 14th October said that an amount of Rs 5,510 crore has been issued towards the scheme. In addition, the previous government’s beneficiary list included around 43 lakh farmers, Jagan Reddy reportedly said that over 51 lakh farmers will be covered under Rythu Bharosa.

The Rythu Bharosa also assures drilling of borewells free of cost, nine hours of free electricity in a day, a calamity relief fund of Rs 4,000 crore and setting up of cold storage units & food processing centres.

Eligibility of Rythu Bharosa

The benefit of Rythu Bharosa scheme will be given only to the eligible farmers as listed below:

  • Beneficiary must be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh.

  • Beneficiary must be associated with agriculture sector.

  • Hold 5 acres of land in the state.

  • Only small, marginal farmers and agricultural tenants are eligible.

  • Valid Identity Proof

  • Aadhaar card

  • Proof of Resident or Domicile Certificate

  • Income Proof or Income Certificate

  • Agriculture Land Proof

  • Bank Account Details

  • Passport size photo

Steps to apply for Rythu Bharosa 

  • The Rythu Bharosa Scheme online application process has already started and farmers can download the application form from the website.

  • First you will have to visit the official website of Rythu Bharosa: ysrrythubharosa.ap.gov.in

  • Then look for the login tab.

  • Those who want to apply for the scheme will have to login by entering their username & password.

  • Once you login in, fill in the required details.
