The Government is gearing up to make Uttar Pradesh an organic farming hub in the nation with CM Yogi Adityanath getting ready to start organic farming across villages situated along the banks of River Ganga. Cluster farming is being introduced at first in order to manage the farming in a more planned way and for better checking of the same. The public authority will likewise give a grant of rupees 10 lakh for every bunch estimating 50 acres of land in the following three years to inspire farmers. First stage will include sowing of organic crops in 68,000 hectares. Organic cultivation will likewise be done in each of the 1,038 gram panchayats situated under 27 districts on the banks of river Ganga which flows through the state of Uttar Pradesh. Of this, the Department of Agriculture and UP DSP will lead the organic cultivation in 16 and 11 districts separately. Separately, the farmers will also be given refreshers and trainings on management of green manure, preparation of nursery, panchagavya, jivamrit, cleaning of products, preparation of farm, vermi-compost composition in an organic manner.
The government said that, "the demand for organic items has expanded because of the growing attention to healthy living and it likewise adds to the farmer's pay. Individuals are prepared to address great costs for them. The condition is that the consumer has certainty that what he is purchasing is of genuine quality". Also certifications regarding the products will be taken from PGS India Ghaziabad.
It has additionally included 36 districts for traditional horticultural development and 27 districts under Namami Gange venture.
Traditional farming schemes included districts such as Jhansi, Jalaun, Lalitpur, Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Chitrakoot and others.
Namami Gange Scheme incorporates districts such as Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh and others.
