The government will soon release the 13th installment of PM Kisan Yojana

Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar recently informed the lower house that as on December 14, 2022, more than Rs. 2 lakh crores have been given to farmers registered under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana through various instalments.

The minister said that under the scheme, the government provides financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 per year to the farmers in three instalments of Rs. 2,000 each. The money is sent directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries. The states & union territories (UTs) identify and confirm the beneficiaries under the scheme. Benefits are transferred to eligible beneficiaries through direct benefit transfer or (DBT) mode after their data is verified by their respective States and UTs on the PM kisan website.

According to the data shared by Tomar, Uttar Pradesh is the largest beneficiary of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in every quarter since the launch of the scheme in 2018. For instance, from December 2018 to March 2019, the state received Rs 2,238.72 crore. The next biggest beneficiary state is Andhra Pradesh, however that sad part is that it received only Rs 663.4 crore. Chandigarh, who is on the third number received Rs 98,000 during the same period.

The minister further told that during the August to November 2022 period, Uttar Pradesh got Rs 3,623.64 crore. Maharashtra, on the second position received Rs 1,001.20 crore.

It is worth mentioning that during the same period, Lakshadweep and Chandigarh did not receive a single penny under the scheme, according to data provided by the Centre.

Farmers in Chhattisgarh will not get 13th installment

Tomar said that there are around 27,43,708 farmers in Chhattisgarh who are registered under PM Kisan scheme. However, only 19 lakh farmers may be able to receive the next instalment of the scheme.

The Centre has become strict action against fraudulent people taking benefits of government subsidies and schemes. Hence, it has made it compulsory to get the Bhulekh verified and the e-KYC updated. Unfortunately, not all the farmers were able to update e-KYC and Bhulekh verified.

In order to confirm whether you will get the 13th installment or not, visit PM Kisan website. Under Farmers corner section, search for Beneficiary status and Beneficiary list. Fill in the required details and submit to view the list.
