Experts in the fields of agriculture and cooperatives praised the recent announcement made by the Indian government that respected luminaries Chaudhary Charan Singh, Dr. MS Swaminathan, and PV Narasimha Rao will receive the country's highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna. This decision has been met with widespread acclaim, with many regarding it as a fitting tribute to the exceptional contributions of these individuals to the nation.

The decision to honour Chaudhary Charan Singh and Dr. MS Swaminathan with the Bharat Ratna has been particularly lauded by experts.

Mr. Mohan Kumar Mishra, Secretary of the National Council of Cooperative Training (NCCT), highlighted Dr. Swaminathan's pivotal role in the establishment of the NCCT, emphasizing its importance in fostering excellence in cooperative management and leadership. He emphasized the need for structural changes in cooperative and agri-economic frameworks to realize this vision fully. The establishment of the World Cooperation Economic Forum reflects a commitment to global collaboration and inclusive growth, guided by the principles championed by these Bharat Ratna awardees.
