On 6 February 2023, an earthquake with a 7.7 magnitude occurred in the Pazarcik district of the Kahramanmaras province. Later, according to the Anadolu Agency, a 7.6-magnitude earthquake with a focal point in the Elbistan district of Kahramanmaras shook the area and affected numerous other provinces, including Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, and Gaziantep.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that on 6 February 2023, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 struck Goksun, Turkey. Syria and Lebanon were two more nations in the region where the earthquake was felt. There were other smaller or somewhat intense earthquakes in addition to these three.

4 Types of Seismic Zones in India:
The whole northeastern region of India, together with portions of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat, a portion of North Bihar, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, is included in Zone-V.
The remaining areas of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, the Union Territory of Delhi, Sikkim, the northern bits of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal, some of Gujarat, and the tiny portions of Maharashtra towards the west coast and Rajasthan are all included in Zone-IV.
Kerala, Goa, the Lakshadweep Islands, the remaining portions of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and West Bengal, as well as portions of Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Orissa, and the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, are included in Zone-III.
