Mandi Updates: Wholesale Month-on-Month Prices of Lemon Rise in February

The month-on-month wholesale prices of lemon fell in Uttarakhand and remained largely unchanged in Nagaland.

The month-on-month wholesale prices of lemon across the benchmark markets increased in February, according to the data from the Agmarknet portal run by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. 

One of the largest producers of lemons, Andhra Pradesh saw an increase of Rs 2,570 per quintal to Rs 5,993. Among all the states, month-on-month wholesale prices of lemons in Himachal Pradesh saw a whooping rise of Rs 4,050 per quintal to Rs 9,598 in February. Similarly, in Jammu and Kashmir, wholesale lemon prices rose by Rs 3,028 per quintal to Rs 7,270.

The prices of the sour fruit increased in several key producing states and union territories such as Chandigarh, Gujarat, and Tripura in the range of Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000. This caused the month-on-month average wholesale price of lemon to rise by Rs 1,260.97 per quintal in February. 

However, in two states, the wholesale prices dropped. In Uttarakhand, the wholesale lemon prices fell by Rs 212 per quintal to Rs 2,398, and in Nagaland, it largely remained unchanged with a slight drop of Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 4,265.
