In order to check the price hike an increase in supply is made from existing buffer created under Price Stabilization Fund. The prices of Onion was Rs.40 a Kg last week which came down to Rs. 33 on Friday.
In order to stabilize the price and to avoid the gap between wholesale and retail prices, the committee advised the Delhi Government to supply onion through PDS.
The supply of Onion is expected to improve in the market following harvest in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andra Pradesh In the coming days.
