PMFAI did it again and successfully too. The launch of the 15th ICSCE Conference marks the success of the event since 1997.
Mr. Pradip Dave -President PMFAI & Chairman Aimco Pesticides Ltdinaugurated the 15thICSCE-2021 Virtual Conference. During his inaugural speech he spoke about the hardships faced last yearacross the globe with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on food security.
Giving a brief of the event he said “Prior to this, beginning from the year 1997, PMFAI has successfully organized 14 such international conferences and exhibitions in the past - eight in India and six events in other countries such as - Thailand, Malaysia, Turkey, Russia, UAE and Kenya. These events have provided good platform to gain considerable mileage in increasing our trade globally.
Being a national association representing Agrochemical Industry in India and internationally, PMFAI has played very important role in Indian Agriculture and has made substantial contributions for the sustainable growth of Indian Agriculture and Indian Agrochemical Industry. Indian crop protection chemical industry has played vital role in increasing India’s agricultural productivity and thereby ensuring food security of the nation. PMFAI is also founder member of AgroCare, Global Association established in the year 2007 with headquarters at Brussles, Belgium, along with industry associations - CCPIA, China; ECCA, Europe; and AGROCARE LATINOAMERICA, Latin America, to protect the interests of indigenous manufacturers of generic pesticides at international forums such as FAO, WHO, UNIDO, WTO and UNDP.
He further stated that by organizing ICSCE, PMFAI aims to bring the researchers & experts in the field of agriculture; manufacturers and traders in agrochemicals and allied industry together in this platform and discuss and get acquainted with recent trends as well as developments in agrochemical industry. Likewise, the event provides opportunities for increasing cooperation and expansion of business and trade and networking opportunities for buyers and sellers to benefit mutually.
He congratulated Shri R.D. Shroff, Chairman and Managing Director of UPL Ltd, having been awarded the highest civilian award in India “PADMA BHUSHAN”.
Following the inaugural the first day session began with a bang with some high powered presentations by eminent foreign delegates. Dr. Bob Fairclough Consultant – Ag Market Insights®,Kynetec Germany, Ms. Inna Volnianskia CEO Agrochemical Business Solutions Ltd., Dr. Antoine Vielliard Global Marketing Director for the Agricultural Specialties business of Solvay, and Dr. Mark Trimmer Managing Partner of DunhamTrimmer LLC, Editor of 2BMonthly The Global Biocontrol & Biostimulant E-Newsletter and board member of BPIA (Biological Products Industry Alliance) delivered presentations.
Mr. Deepak Shah Vice President , PMFAI & CMD of Sulphur Mills Ltd. delivered the vote of thanks while concluding the days’ session.
