ASSOCHAM is conducting a Conference on Fuels of Future 2.0 - Converging Towards Greener Growth on January 16, 2024 in New Delhi to explore the aforementioned and related concerns.
As we move through the twenty-first century, the discourse around fuels is changing dramatically. The search for ecologically acceptable, renewable, and sustainable energy sources has become critical. The emphasis is currently on developing ecologically friendly new generation cleaner fuels and embracing cleaner alternatives such as biofuels, electric vehicles, and hydrogen powered plants and machines.
Biofuels are becoming more popular by generating energy from organic materials such as algae, crop waste, and even municipal solid waste. These materials not only minimize our reliance on nonrenewable resources, but they also have the potential to solve waste management issues. Another possibility is green hydrogen, which includes electrolyzing water using renewable energy sources such as wind and solar electricity.
This technique emits no greenhouse gases, making it a clean fuel choice for transportation, renewable energy storage, and industrial use. Battery technology advancements are also influencing the future of fuels. Electric vehicles powered by lithium-ion batteries have already begun to change the way we travel.
These activities are supported by government programs under Atmanirbhar Bharat, such as the Ethanol Blended Program, Green Hydrogen Policy, FAME Scheme, New Electric Vehicle Policy, Coal Gasification, and others, which are assisting the country in strengthening its energy security.
