On World Water Day,22 March 2021, FICCI is organizing a virtual webinar on ‘Masterclass on Regenerative Agriculture’. Guided by the SDGs, it is now up to all of us to work together and keep ourselves updated on latest approaches on sustainable practices. The Master Class will feature experts and practitioners sharing their experiences on various topics that relate to the concept of Regenerative Agriculture.
Regenerative Agriculture practices have great potential to drive positive change towards SDGs. Regenerative Agriculture is a system of farming principles and practices that increases biodiversity, enriches soils, improves watersheds, and enhances ecosystem services. It aims to capture carbon in soil and aboveground biomass, reversing current global trends of atmospheric accumulation. With our current production practices, that are input intensive, we are moving towards a state of natural resource (mainly soil and water) degradation, low yields, incomes and unsustainable farming operations. An approach that looks at use of alternate inputs and practices that reduce the environmental footprint of agriculture and create more sustainable production landscapes is the need of the hour.
