Mahindra OJA Tractors and Thar. e Unveiled at Mahindra Futurescape on India's 77th Independence Day; Exclusive Interview with Hemant Sikka
Mahindra OJA and electronic SUV Thar. e were launched on India's 77th Independence Day during Mahindra Futurescape held in Cape Town, South Africa. Mahindra unveiled the new tractors on 3 OJA platforms – the Sub Compact, Compact, and Small Utility in Cape Town. With 4WD as standard, Mahindra launched 7 new tractor models for the Indian market on Compact and Small Utility platforms.
In a momentous launch that marked India's 77th Independence Day, Mahindra introduced its revolutionary OJA tractors and Thar. e during the Mahindra Futurescape event in Cape Town, South Africa. These cutting-edge tractors, available in three OJA platforms - Sub Compact, Compact, and Small Utility, were unveiled with much anticipation and excitement.
With an impressive standard 4WD feature, the OJA range represents Mahindra's dedication to creating a Global Light Weight 4WD Tractor lineup that sets new industry standards. Developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi Mahindra Agriculture Machinery, Japan, the OJA tractors embrace both futuristic and budget-friendly technologies.
In an exclusive conversation with MC Dominic, Editor-in-chief of Krishi Jagran, Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment Sector of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and a member of the Group Executive Board, shared insights about the OJA range. "The OJA Range presents a series of lightweight compact tractors designed specifically for horticulture, orchids, and paddy cultivation," stated Sikka. He emphasized that these tractors complement the existing lineup, catering to a unique set of needs in agriculture. The picturesque region of South Africa, abundant with orchids and vineyards, was chosen for its aptness to launch this innovation.
Highlighting Mahindra's substantial presence in the agricultural sector, Sikka mentioned, "Our tractors ranging from 17 Hp to 75 Hp have been effectively serving the needs of farmers, contributing to our 41 percent market share in India." He further revealed that Mahindra's focus extends beyond India; it encompasses the ASEAN and US markets. Already holding a substantial market share in the USA, Brazil, and Turkey, Mahindra's commitment to innovation and quality has solidified its position as India's leading tractor manufacturer.
Anticipating the global availability of these game-changing tractors, Sikka informed that the OJA tractors will be accessible in India from early October and will be rolled out worldwide by the end of January.
As the curtain rises on this new era of advanced, lightweight 4WD tractors, Mahindra's OJA range promises to empower farmers across the globe with innovative technology and reliable performance.
Thar. e stands out as a testament to sustainability, incorporating 50 percent recycled PET and recyclable uncoated plastics in its construction. The vehicle features practical design elements like a central pivoting screen, sturdy grab handles, and a functional layout tailored for both city and off-road use.
