The brand 'Maruti Suzuki' has always offered its customers an affordable range of vehicles. The company currently offers 4 cars in a price range of Rs 5 lakhs, including Alto, Celerio, S-Presso and some new variants of Wagon R. The company has recently announced a launch of 2 new cars in this price range.
The company has recently confirmed that they are working on an 800 cc car and a 1.0-liter petrol-powered car. However, for the manufacturer, the challenge is to develop a small car along with a low cost. In a report, Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director, Maruti Suzuki, said, "We have to comply with new regulations on safety and emission which spike the cost by 10% on entry-level and makes it challenging. We have to still find a solution on the same.” With e-vehicles and other energy emission norms, this might be more difficult from the manufacturer's end.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki leads the entry-level small car market in the country and is a trustworthy name in the market. The company also manufactures tractors in an affordable range to help farmers.
