The medical institutes and hospitals in the country continue to upgrade their infrastructure and amenities at a rapid rate amid the expanding global demand for Ayush.

The Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), New Delhi, and the Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Jhansi, two of the top institutions run by the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) of the Ministry of Ayush, have both received accreditation from NABH and NABL.

For the unversed, NABH is a constituent board of the Quality Council of India. It was created to create and manage certification programmes for healthcare businesses. Based on national and international standards, the accreditation focuses on patient safety and healthcare quality.

The officers and personnel of both institutes were complimented on their success by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, for their commitment and persistent efforts.

The approval of NABH and NABL certification to both institutes was announced in an official meeting held at Ayush Bhawan in New Delhi, wherein Pramod Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, and representatives from both institutes were present.

The Ministry of Ayush established the Central Ayurveda Research Institute in New Delhi in 1979. It is dedicated to clinical research in ayurveda and extends health care services through specialized OPDs, Preventive Cardiology & Lifestyle Changes, ENT OPD, Geriatric OPD, Balroga, Sandhiroga, and Clinical.

The NABH certification will have an impact on thousands of individuals who visit the institute for a variety of healthcare needs given the vital medical services it provides.

Meanwhile, Central Ayurveda Research Institute in Jhansi is one of the premier institutions of CCRAS and consists of modern Quality Control Laboratories (Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacognosy), Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Central Herbarium and Museum, and National Raw Drugs Repository (NRDR).

In addition to these two CCRAS institutions, the National Ayurveda Research Institute for Panchakarma (NARIP), Cheruthuruthy, Kerala, has received NABL M(EL)T certification for its clinical laboratory services.
