7th Pay Commission: BIG News for Central Govt. Employees! 14% Hike in DA, 10 Months Arrear to Be Transferred Soon

The government has given great news to the central government employees. The dearness allowance (DA) has been increased by 14 percent and the pending arrears of 10 months will also be given to the employees. This decision of the government will benefit lakhs of railway employees.

While issuing an order for the railway employees, the government has said that these central employees will be given arrears of 10 months. Along with this, their dearness allowance will be increased by 14 percent.

However, the Railway Board has reportedly announced the DA hike in two parts. Dearness allowance has been increased by 7 percent with effect from July 1, 2021, and by 7 percent with effect from January 1, 2022.

The first 7 percent hike will be applicable for those employees who are covered under the Sixth Pay Commission. At present, the employees who are paid under the Sixth Pay Commission are getting 189 percent DA.

The DA of these employees will be increased from July 1, 2021, only based on 196 percent. Similarly, with an increase of 7 percent from January 1, 2022, it will increase to 203 percent of the employees.

Combining the two hikes, the employees will be paid their May salaries along with 10 months of arrears. In such a situation, if the DA hike and 10 months of arrears are paid to the employees simultaneously, then there will be a big increase in their salary.

DA was increased by 3 percent:

Significantly, on March 30, 2022, the Union Cabinet announced a 3% DA hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners with effect from January 1. After this increase, the DA of the employees is now given 34 percent instead of 31%.

DA may increase in July as well:

DA is paid to the employees by the Central Government in a year. In such a situation, it is expected that the central government can pay DA in July 2022 as well.
