G-20 Summit: Jyotiraditya Scindia Pushes for Adoption of 'Smart, Sustainable & Serving All' Strategy in Agri Ecosystem

Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Steel, addressed G20 delegates on the second day of the ongoing 1st Meeting of the Agriculture Working Group under India's G20 Presidency in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

In his address to the delegates, Union Minister said that India's assumption of the G20 presidency is a source of pride for the country in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, as reported by Anjul Tyagi, KJ Correspondent at the G20 Summit.

He emphasized the importance of the 3-S strategy for agriculture, stating that we must adopt the 3-S strategy - Smart, Sustainable, and Serving All - in the agriculture ecosystem. He stated that India is moving forward with "Vasudev Kutumbkum" values.

India is offering health and nutritional values to the world as part of the International Year of Millets. Agriculture expansion requires investment. Agriculture is the focus of this year's budget.

He stated that in order to have a better future, sustainable agriculture practices must be implemented. He also emphasised the importance of drone technology in the agricultural sector.

During the inauguration, Chief Minister Chouhan also stated that global foodgrain demand is expected to increase by 345 million tonnes by 2030, up from 192 million tonnes in 2000. He expressed pride in the fact that India meets the world's foodgrain requirements.

The 3rd day will be devoted to AWG deliberations on key deliverables. According to the statement, it will be a technical session with conversations and involvement from all concerned associates and international organizations.

The event will be attended by approximately 100 delegates from 30 countries, including G20 member countries. Agricultural issues such as food security, sustainable agriculture, nutrition and food systems, and digitalization for agricultural transformation will be discussed at the meeting.

The meeting's outcomes will help in the provision of solutions to the country and the world. The event also provides an opportunity for India to showcase its rich cultural heritage to G20 delegates and guests.
