Agnipath Scheme 2022-23: IAF to Start Registration Process in November

The Indian Air Force is gearing up for an online examination that will be held in January 2023, to select candidates for its Agniveer recruitment drive. The registration is open for all eligible female and male candidates, the IAF announced.

“Registration for STAR 01/2023 for Agniveervayu Intake 01/2023 will open in the first week of Nov 2022 for male and female candidates. Online examination will be conducted in mid-Jan 2023,” said Indian Air Force’s official Twitter account via a tweet.

The Centre has announced a new Agnipath policy that will see 46,000 Agniveers recruited for the three services this year, and between 50,000 to 60,000 annually thereafter. Of these recruits, only 25 percent will be re-employed for a period of 15 years after retirement, and they will receive a pension and lifelong healthcare benefits.

The Indian Air Force's guidelines state that those born between 29 December 1999 and 29 June 2005 are eligible to apply for the Air Force if they are either Indian or Nepalese citizens.

How many leaves are granted in Indian Air Force?

80 days of paid leave and a provision for ten days' pay-back each year for up to five years. Selected candidates can cash out their accrued leave every year, with a maximum of 300 days.

Physical/ Medical Standards Set by Indian Air Force:

Indian Air Force has set a standard for the physical and medical wellness of the candidates that will be selected for the Agniveervayu to perform duties in any part of the world, climate, and terrain.

Here are the parameters and the requirements for selection into Agniveervayu:

Height: The minimum height acceptable is 152.5 cm.

Weight: The required weight of the candidate should be proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.

Chest: The minimum chest circumference should be 77 cm and the chest expansion also should be at least 05 cm.

Hearing: Candidates should have normal hearing that is able to hear forced whispers from a distance of 06 meters by each ear separately.

Dental: Candidates are required to have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.

General Health: Candidates should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or communicable diseases, infection, and skin ailments. Candidates should be physically and mentally fit to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
