Post Name: Chairperson
Classification: Group ‘A’ Equivalent
Pay Scale: Level-17, Basic Pay Rs.2,25,000/-(Fixed)
Upper Age Limit: 62 years
Qualification: The Chairperson shall be selected from amongst retired or serving Scientists or Technologists or Academicians with a Ph.D. degree and having 25 years of experience or retired or serving Civil Servants having experience of at least 25 years in public administration or agriculture or related sectors.
Duties:
The Chairperson is responsible for overseeing public relations, serving as the Board's leader, and offering administrative direction.
The Chairperson is in charge of hiring for all positions in the Agricultural Research Service and any other positions in the organization that the President of the ICAR may specify, including selecting scientists for placement or promotion under the Career Advancement Scheme.
Additionally, if requested by the President of the ICAR Society, the Chairperson should support ICAR in all personnel concerns.
Duration:
The Chairperson's term will last for three years, or until he or she becomes 65, whichever comes first. The Chairperson in question shouldn't have any outstanding debts to his or her prior company.
Method of Selection:
A high-level Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) formed by the Ministry/Department for the purpose in accordance with current DoP&T guidelines must conduct the selection. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet must approve the appointment before it may be made (ACC).

In addition to direct applications, the Vice Chancellors of all State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), Central Agricultural Universities (CAUs), Chief Secretaries of State/UTs, Director General, CSIR, and Chairman of UGC/Veterinary Council of India may also recommend/ nominate suitable candidates with their Curriculum Vitae (CV) Particulars.
