The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) and Vijnana Bharati are jointly organizing an event, the GI-YSRI Conference (Global Indian Young Scientists Research & Innovation), which commenced today and will continue until June 2 at the National Agricultural Science Complex in New Delhi.
Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary Ministry of Ayush, inaugurated the conference. The event featured distinguished faculty members from AIIA and Vijanana Bharati, as well as notable personalities, intellectuals, and leaders from the Indian diaspora around the world, all focused on promoting collaboration and creativity in the domains of science and technology.
The primary objective of the GI-YSRI Conference is to introduce GIST (Global Indian Scientists and Technocrats Forum) to agency heads, showcase ongoing collaborations and partnerships, identify new opportunities for collaboration, and emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion in the promotion of science and technology. The event aims to serve as a platform for inviting more agencies and engaging the scientific and technological diaspora.
It will highlight and discuss ongoing partnerships and collaborations between the diaspora and Indian scholars and leaders, addressing important societal needs. Additionally, GIST aims to develop a model and platform for open and thoughtful deliberations and scientific dialogues on key national and international topics, ensuring that no individual or group is left behind.
Vd. Rajesh Kotecha expressed excitement about the inauguration of the GIST Meet and GI-YSRI Conference. They mentioned that the event would provide a unique platform for global Indian scientists and technocrats to contribute to the advancement of science and technology. Vd. Rajesh Kotecha emphasized the role of Ayurveda in promoting overall well-being. They encouraged young researchers to think innovatively, work together to solve common problems, and actively address challenges specific to India. Vd. Rajesh Kotecha believed that by collaborating, engaging in transdisciplinary research, and fostering innovation, India could be elevated through science and technology.
Prof. (Dr) Tanuja Nesari, the Director of AIIA, stated that the AIIA had collaborated with the Global Indian Scientists and Technocrats Forum (GIST) as a co-host for the event taking place at the National Agricultural Science Complex. They expressed pride in being a part of this event. She further mentioned that during the conference, scientists and technocrats will discuss and develop a roadmap for science initiatives related to technology and traditional systems like Ayurveda.
The conference will also address Ayurvedahaar for agriculture and education. Prof. Nesari expressed her belief that the scientists and young scholars from AIIA will greatly benefit from the event. The conference has attracted the participation of 300 research scholars, postdoctoral fellows, young investigators, and rural innovators from across India. Co-hosted by the All India Institute of Ayurveda and Vigyan Bharati, the conference is also co-sponsored by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research.
Attendees can look forward to engaging sessions, interactive discussions, and presentations on a wide range of topics, exploring avenues for scientific progress and innovation. Participants from various scientific disciplines will share their expertise, experiences, and insights, fostering valuable exchanges and creating an environment conducive to collaboration.
