Anil Jauhari, the former CEO of the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) at the Quality Council of India (QCI), has been appointed as a member of the Steering Committee of the Global Carbon Council (GCC) in Qatar.

He will serve a two-year term in this voluntary carbon offsetting program aimed at assisting organizations in reducing their carbon footprints and catalyzing climate actions on the ground. The GCC, based in Qatar, is an internationally recognized greenhouse gas emission scheme.

Expressing his gratitude on social media, Jauhari said he was pleased to be appointed to the GCC Steering Committee. The GCC's focus is on helping people save the environment and contribute to a sustainable and low-carbon economy.

The Steering Committee is responsible for directing the creation and execution of the Commission on Ecosystem Management's (CEM) work while providing leadership. It also helps to find and start fundraising opportunities, improve relationships, promote membership, and assist the formation of CEM's Thematic and Specialist Groups and Task Forces.

Also, the SC has given each member multiple Thematic and Specialist Groups to manage. Every year, CEM hosts two SC meetings, and wherever possible, they coincide with a relevant workshop.
