The Bank of Baroda has launched its Agri digital platform ‘Baroda Kisan’ on 21st September 2019. Now farmers can access the platform on their mobile phones.
In a statement, the public sector bank said that “The web-based portal would cater to all the needs/requirements of the farmers, including crop conditions, weather forecasts, the moisture levels of the soil, market prices, information on crop worms and special crop-related consultation”.
In addition, it will also help growers with inputs related to the purchase of various products (for instance - seeds, fertilizers or pesticides), consultancy services, agricultural equipment on rent and innovative financing options for the sale of agricultural products.
Launch of Loan schemes
The Bank has also launched centralized processing hubs at Hyderabad and Gandhinagar of agriculture proposals. It also introduced 2 new loan schemes.
One of the schemes was meant for the construction as well as repair of toilets and domestic drinking water facilities under government’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, whereas the other would help the people with the construction of houses in rural regions.
