Beating Retreat Ceremony 2022: Every year on the 29th of January, the Beating Retreat event marks the end of the Republic Day celebrations. It takes place in New Delhi's Vijay Chowk. Previously, the Beating Retreat ritual was solely attended by the armed forces, namely the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Since 2016, however, marching bands from other law enforcement agencies, including as the Central Armed Police Forces, have been invited to participate at the occasion.

For the first time, a drone exhibition will be featured during this year's 'Beating the Retreat' celebration, with over 1,000 drones built using indigenous technology. During the 10-minute presentation, synchronized background music will be played by a start-up called 'Botlab Dynamics,' which is backed by the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and the Department of Science and Technology.
75 Years of Independence
There will also be a projection mapping event to mark 75 years of independence, according to the Centre. Before the end of the ceremony, this will be projected on the North and South Block walls.
"This year's celebration will feature martial musical compositions with Indian enthusiasm." The bands of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will perform 26 times, enthralling the audience with foot-tapping music, according to the Ministry of Defence.
