Recently, Reliance General Insurance has launched a COVID-19 insurance scheme. Under this new insurance policy, anyone who tests positive for novel coronavirus will get the benefits.
Reliance General Covid-19 Insurance Scheme:
This insurance scheme offers a lump sum amount up to 100 percent of the sum assured if you test positive for the virus. Even if the person is quarantined, the plan offers 50% of the sum-insured for that period.
The Reliance General plan covers anyone between the age group of 3 months to 60 years. The sum insured options range from Rs. 25,000 - Rs. 2 lakh. Adding to it, the plan has a policy period of 1 year and the waiting period is for 15 days before one can claim against the policy, as per a statement by the company.
Reliance General Executive Director & CEO Rakesh Jain said, "We have designed this product to reduce the financial implications this pandemic can bring to an individual, by offering them a lump sum policy, irrespective of the treatment cost. To give an additional benefit, the plan will also cover for any loss of pay or job.”
Adding more to it, the insurance scheme also has an add-on option, 'Travel Exclusion Removal'. It offers a waiver to the 45-day travel exclusion policy & enables the insured to claim 100% of the sum-insured if they test positive.
'Corona Care' Policy by PhonePe & Bajaj Allianz General Insurance:
PhonePe has also announced an insurance policy called 'Corona Care' in collaboration with Bajaj Allianz General Insurance earlier. The 'Corona Care' policy priced at ₹156 will provide an insurance cover of ₹50,000 for people who are under 55 years of age. It will be valid at any hospital that is offering COVID-19 treatment.
Rajasthan Government to give Rs 50 lakh insurance for corona warriors:
In the same context, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has also introduced monetary help of Rs 50 lakh which might be given to the household on demise of any authority worker due to coronovirus. The central authorities had earlier launched a medical insurance coverage cowl of Rs 50 lakh to corona warriors, along medical employees. Adding to it, the state authorities have prolonged it to different workers who are a part of the coronavirus operation.
