Drone Didis and Lakhpati Didis are scripting new chapters of success, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Modi's participation in the Sashakt Nari - Viksit Bharat program highlights the government's commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs and farmers.

Prime Minister Modi marked a historic occasion today on March 11, 2024, as he participated in the Sashakt Nari - Viksit Bharat program at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Pusa, New Delhi. The highlight of the event was witnessing agricultural drone demonstrations conducted by the remarkable Namo Drone Didis from 10 different locations nationwide.

During the program, the PM handed over drones to 1,000 Namo Drone Didis, empowering them to further their entrepreneurial endeavors. Additionally, around Rs 8,000 crore in bank loans at subsidized interest rates were disbursed to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) through Bank Linkage Camps set up by banks in each district. Furthermore, a capitalization support fund of about Rs 2,000 crore was disbursed to SHGs, underscoring the government's commitment to fostering financial autonomy among women.

In his address, PM hailed the occasion as historic, emphasizing the significant contributions of women entrepreneurs to the nation's progress. He lauded the determination and persistence of Nari Shakti and expressed confidence in their ability to drive the country's future success. He reiterated his commitment to creating opportunities and ensuring the dignity of women, emphasizing the pivotal role of Nari Shakti in societal progress.

Addressing the gathering, Modi characterized the day as historic, highlighting the groundbreaking achievements of the Drone Didis and Lakhpati Didis. He remarked, "Interacting with such successful women entrepreneurs fills me with confidence about the future of the nation." Praising the determination and persistence of Nari Shakti, he added, "This gave me confidence to embark on the journey of creating 3 crore Lakhpati Didis."

Schemes for Women's Empowerment

Prime Minister Modi outlined various schemes aimed at addressing the diverse needs of women at different stages of their lives. These include initiatives such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao to combat foeticide, financial support for expecting mothers, Sukanya Samriddhi for education funding, and Mudra Yojana to facilitate entrepreneurship. He also highlighted measures to enhance healthcare access, maternity leave benefits, and housing ownership for women.

Acknowledging the transformative impact of drone technology in agriculture, Prime Minister Modi commended the pioneering efforts of women in embracing this technology. He emphasized the expansion of drone applications beyond agriculture, including transportation and healthcare, opening new avenues for women entrepreneurs.

Support for Self-Help Groups

Prime Minister praised the remarkable growth of self-help groups in India, acknowledging their pivotal role in women's economic empowerment. He highlighted government initiatives to support these groups, including increased financial assistance and infrastructure development. The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to Bank Sakhi, Krishi Sakhi, Pashu Sakhi, and Matasya Sakhi for their contributions to national development.

As part of his vision to empower women economically, Prime Minister Modi announced plans to felicitate Lakhpati Didis who have achieved success through government schemes. These initiatives aim to inspire and motivate other women to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities and contribute to the nation's progress.

Through innovative initiatives and transformative schemes, the government is creating pathways for women to achieve financial autonomy and contribute to India's socio-economic development. With the support of Prime Minister Modi's vision, Nari Shakti continues to script new chapters of success and inspire future generations.
