Delhi University (DU) said that it will conduct separate admission process for the Undergraduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) courses. Earlier DU had planned to conduct a common admission process for both courses.
As per latest reports, the DU admission process for UG courses is likely to start from 24 May, 2019 whereas for PG courses it may begin on 21 or 22 May, 2019.
The Dean of Students Welfare, Professor Rajiv Gupta said, “The application process for UG & PG will be started separately. The application process for PG will be started from 21 or 22 May while the application process for UG courses will commence after one or two days. ”
Prof. Rajiv Gupta also clarified that the admission process for undergraduate courses can be postponed to 24 May owing to the result of Lok Sabha Elections on 23 May. The probable date of starting the DU admission process is continuously being extended since the preparation for the same has not yet completed. In addition, the process of conducting entrance exam for various professional courses is expected to begin in the last week of May.
On the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance test, students can get admission in courses like Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of technology (B.Tech) and Bachelors of Elementary Education (B.El. Ed.).
This year DU has asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct entrance exam for admission in various courses. NTA sources have revealed that they have asked DU to give them the terms & conditions to be followed for the entrance exam along with other necessary details. National Testing Agency has already conducted NEET as well as JEE Main exams successfully across the country. Moreover, it took over the conducting authority for JNUEE or Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam.
The first cut-off list of Delhi University will most probably be released on 14th June.
