The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has extended the deadline for retired employees to submit their application for increased pensions and other documents. The earlier deadline was 13 March, 2023 but now it has been extended until 3 May 2023 as per the EPFO’s circular released on 20th February 2023.

The extension of the deadline is good news for retired employees who can now submit an application against increased pension without any hassle. Along with this, retired employees or pensioners where also asked previously to submit their other documents like life certificates every year which is an important document for continuation of pension payments.

The retirement fund body has initially released a press release which states that the employees who retired from their job dated September 01, 2014 are also eligible for pension. Hence, it becomes important for a pensioner to provide an application against increased pension.

The application is a document that needs to be submitted by the pensioner to authenticate that he or she has got increment in their pension. The certificate is to be submitted to the EPFO to continue receiving the pension.

Retired employees need to submit all their documents online and offline in order to continue their pension. The online method is the easiest and most convenient way to submit the application. Also, they can visit their nearby banks or post offices to submit it offline.

The extension of the deadline for submitting life certificates is a welcome move by the EPFO. It will provide relief to retired eligible employees who were struggling to submit their documents/applications latest by 03rd May 2023. They can now submit their certificates without any concern and continue receiving their pensions smoothly.
