Good News for 11 crore farmers of India! Now they will not have to face any financial (monetary) problem during their old-age as government is providing pension of Rs. 36000 per year.
Let me tell you that government has introduced a pension scheme for farmers known as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY) that provides social as financial security to farmers of the country.
Under PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana, a minimum fixed pension of Rs. 3000 will be provided to eligible farmers, depending on certain exclusion clauses, on completing sixty years. This is a voluntary as well as contributory pension plan, with an entry age of 18 to 40 years.
Till now, 4,398,142 farmers have registered for pension under PM Maandhan Yojana. The Centre aims to cover all the farmers in the country under the scheme.
Features and benefits of PM Kisan Maan-Dhan Yojana
A farmer beneficiary can become a member of PM-KMY by subscribing to a Pension Fund, which is managed by LIC.
He or she will have to make a monthly contribution of Rs. 55 to 200 to the Pension Fund and this will depend on the age of entry into the scheme - with a provision of equal contribution by the Central government.
Moreover, withdrawal from the PM-KMY can be willingly or on the failure of contribution or on death.
On exit from PM-KMY, beneficiary will get his accumulated share while the Government's contribution will be deposited in the LIC Fund.
After the death of subscriber, the spouse will be entitled to receive 50 percent of the pension as family pension, provided he is not a SMF beneficiary of the yojana.
On the death of subscriber during the period of contribution, his/her spouse will get the option to continue the scheme by paying regular contribution.

Go to the official website of PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana.

On the right-hand side of the homepage look for a link that says 'Click Here to Apply Now.

Then you will find 2 options - self-enrollment (using Mobile number & OTP) and CSC VLE (using CSC connect).

After selecting self-enrollment, enter your mobile number.

Then enter your name, email id, and captcha.

Click on generate OTP and submit it.
