The Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare had earlier made it mandatory for fertilizers as well as seed sellers to have one year diploma of DAESI (Diploma in Agriculture Extension Service for Input Dealers Program) or B.Sc Agriculture degree. But now it is not so.

According to District Agriculture Officer Satyendra Singh of Lakhimpur in Uttar Pradesh, now agriculture degree will not be an obstacle for those willing to open a fertilizer or seeds store. If a class 10th pass wants to get license for a fertilizer or seed store, then he will easily get it now. However, for this, he will have to do fifteen days training with the Agriculture Department.

The new rules say that along with agricultural graduates, 10th pass youth can also get license to become fertilizer and seed seller by getting license from the Agriculture Department. These youth will have to go through 15 days training from the office of Deputy Director Krishi Prasar

After training, they will be provided with a valid certificate of selling seeds and compost. Let me tell you that, along with the amendment in the rules, the government has also decided a separate course for training for these people wherein good information will be given about the sale of fertilizer and seeds.

First Come First Serve

It must be noted that in order to get the license for selling fertilizer and seed, it is compulsory for an applicant to be between 18 and 45 years old. However, the maximum age limit of an employee retired from a state, center, board or corporation is 65 years. 30 to 35 youth will be trained in a batch.
