Good News PMJDY Beneficiaries! You are Likely to Get Money in Jan Dhan Accounts Even After June 2020

The central government has some good news for the Jan Dhan account holders. As we are well aware that the government had announced a transfer of Rs. 500 to all women beneficiaries of Jan Dhan account for 3 months. As per some media reports, the central government will continue to send a monthly installment of Rs 500 to all the PMJDY women beneficiaries even after June.

The central government has some good news for the Jan Dhan account holders. As we are well aware that the government had announced a transfer of Rs. 500 to all women beneficiaries of Jan Dhan account for 3 months under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PM-JDY). Now, the third and last installment has also started coming in June. As per some media reports, the central government will continue to send a monthly installment of Rs 500 to all the PMJDY women beneficiaries even after June.

As per reports, some central officials want that money should be sent to the Jan Dhan accounts of women even after June. So that people can get some relief. However, the PMO (Prime Minister's Office) will take a final decision on whether the women will get the money even after June or not. It is to be noted that no official information has been released till now. But by the end of this month, the information will be released.

Objective of Jan Dhan Account

The government started the PM Jan Dhan accounts to connect every citizen of the country to the banking system. Their main objective was to add people in the banking system who do not have a bank account of their own. Under Jan Dhan Yojana Scheme, 53% of bank accounts have been opened so far for women. While in rural and urban areas 59% of bank accounts have been opened.

How to open Jan Dhan account?

For opening a Jan Dhan account follow these steps

  • You can apply on the Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana's official website home or download the form from the official website of any bank. Or you can also take its form from the branches of banks.

  • For this, you need a driving license, Aadhaar card, Voter ID, passport, PAN card, MNREGA job card or any valid document issued by the central government.

  • You have to provide an ID proof and address proof and fill the form. There will be no charge for opening this account and there is no rule for minimum balance.

  • After filling the form and attaching the necessary documents, you go to your nearest bank branch.

  • After verification of the documents, your Jan Dhan account will be opened.
