‘Heavy Rain Alert’ in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar; Light Shower over These States

The weather department of India has issued ‘Heavy to Extreme Rain Alert’ in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar due to cyclonic circulation above sea level. Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with very heavy to extremely heavy rainfalls likely over Uttar Pradesh , Bihar during next 2 days and heavy to very heavy falls over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh during next 2-3 days, says IMD(Indian Meteorological Department) report that released in the morning.

The weather department of India has issued ‘Heavy to Extreme Rain Alert’ in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar due to cyclonic circulation above sea level. Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with very heavy to extremely heavy rainfalls likely over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar during next 2 days and heavy to very heavy falls over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh during next 2-3 days, says IMD(Indian Meteorological Department) report that released in the morning.

The weather department has also predicted a light shower over Gujarat state and North Eastern Region during the forecast period with increased rainfall activity from 29th September.

The weather department of India said in its report, “A cyclonic circulation lies over Saurashtra & adjoining areas of northeast Arabian Sea and extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, a Low-Pressure Area is likely to form over Saurashtra & neighbourhood during next 24hours and likely to become more marked during subsequent 48 hours. A Low-Pressure Area is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood during next 24 hours. Moisture incursion and strong convergence in the easterly wind regime is likely to cause fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy falls likely over Bihar during the next 2 days.”

On the other hand, most places over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Region, Odisha, and West Bengal and northeastern region witnessed rain along with thundershowers.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall recorded at isolated places over Bihar while very heavy rainfall recorded at isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya.

Maximum temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Kerala, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar Islands while Minimum temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir and at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh.
