The Division of Genetics at the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi is inviting applications for an online interview to fill one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in a DST-funded project. This opportunity is strictly on a contractual and temporary basis.

The project, titled "Identification of Novel Genomic Regions Governing Resistance Against Recently Evolved Devastating Stripe Rust Pathotype 238S119 in Unexplored Durum Wheat Landraces from Southern India," is seeking to fill one JRF position. The position offers an emolument of Rs. 37,000 plus 24% HRA per month.
Applicants must have a Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or a Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course such as Genetics, Plant Breeding, Genetics and Plant Breeding, or Agricultural Biotechnology. The selection process includes National Eligibility Tests like CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or other national-level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies.
In addition to the essential qualifications, candidates with an understanding of plant breeding trials, experience in handling field crops, crossing techniques, and research experience in wheat breeding and its molecular biology are desirable.
The age limit for applicants is a maximum of 35 years, with age relaxations of five years for SC/ST and women, and three years for OBC candidates. The minimum age requirement is 18 years as of the interview date.
