IMD Predicts Active Monsoon Conditions Over Central India During Next 3 Days; Here is Complete Forecast

A Low-Pressure Area that formed over the North Bay of Bengal on August 13 is expected to intensify into a Depression over the next few hours and move west-northwest across the Indian subcontinent. Meanwhile, active monsoon conditions are expected in central India over the next three days, and in northwest India until August 16.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted rain in the central and western parts of the country. "Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during the 13th-15th; Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and West Madhya Pradesh during the 13th-16th; Gujarat Region during the 13th-17th; Vidarbha on the 14th & 15th; Saurashtra & Kutch on the 13th; 16th and 17th August 2022," the MeT Department said in its weather bulletin.

Isolated heavy rain is expected over Madhya Maharashtra and Vidharbha on August 14, east Madhya Pradesh on August 15, and Konkan and Goa on August 14 and 15. On August 14 and 16, similar weather conditions are expected in west Madhya Pradesh, as well as in the Gujarat region. Meanwhile, isolated extremely heavy rain is expected in east Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on August 14, and in Madhya Maharashtra and west Madhya Pradesh on August 15.

On Saturday, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms or lightning is expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall with thunderstorms or lightning is forecast for August 14 in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh, August 14 and 15 in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, and August 16 in several parts of Rajasthan. On Saturday, isolated heavy rain is also expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into the north and central Arabian Seas, as well as along and off the coasts of Gujarat and Maharashtra, until August 14.
