According to a press release from the US Department of State, the US welcomed India's declaration that it would join the Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate.

US Secretary (Economic Relations) Dammu Ravi signed a letter declaring the Indian Government's intention to join the Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate, under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, Jose W. Fernandez, who was in Abu Dhabi for the I2U2 Business Forum.

"The US and the United Arab Emirates launched AIM4C in November 2021. AIM4C seeks to increase investment in and support innovation in climate-smart agriculture and food systems. The AIM4C initiative has successfully increased these investments to more than 8 billion US dollars globally", the statement read.

"With today's announcement, India joins more than 275 partners, including 42 governments, who are working to collectively advance AIM4C's mission by supporting investment in climate-smart agriculture and food systems innovation", it added.

The India-Israel-UAE-US (I2U2) Sherpas meeting was conducted in Abu Dhabi earlier on Wednesday, wherein Sherpas reviewed the status of all current and future I2U2 initiatives during the meeting and reaffirmed their dedication to the partnership.

The I2U2 Grouping was conceived during the gathering of the four nations' foreign ministers on October 18, 2021.

Each nation also routinely engages in interactions at the Sherpa level to discuss potential areas of cooperation.

In 2021, it was known as the "International Conference for Economic Cooperation" and is now also known as the 'West Asian Quad'.

I2U2 aims to promote collaboration in the six fields of water, energy, transportation, space, health, and food security that have been mutually identified.

To modernize the infrastructure, create low-carbon growth pathways for our industries, enhance public health, and advance the advancement of vital emerging and green technologies, it aims to mobilize private sector capital and expertise.
