Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, inaugurated several significant infrastructure projects, custom hiring centers for farmers, and poly greenhouses for self-help groups in the Baramulla district on Tuesday, according to officials.
In addition, Sinha also laid the foundation stone for various projects aimed at further enhancing the region's development. The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that these projects would not only bring about a transformation in Baramulla but also benefit the entire Jammu and Kashmir region.
He highlighted that the upgradation of the Narbal-Tangmarg road would greatly strengthen connectivity in the area. Sinha expressed his satisfaction with Baramulla's progress, stating that the district had emerged as a center of economic importance in recent years. He further mentioned that the citizens of Baramulla have seen their long-held dreams of an improved quality of life being fulfilled to a large extent.
During the event, the Lieutenant Governor paid homage to Maqbool Sherwani, often referred to as the "lion of Baramulla," and commended the youth of the district for their remarkable contributions to various sectors, playing a significant role in the nation-building process.
Sinha called upon the members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) and all stakeholders to actively participate in the effective implementation of the holistic agriculture development program and other government-led development initiatives.
He emphasized that the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) presents an opportunity to empower three-fourths of Jammu and Kashmir's population. Sinha stressed the importance of ensuring that the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan, an initiative aimed at connecting farmers, benefits a greater number of individuals, leading to sustained growth and development.
The Lieutenant Governor urged the people to isolate elements within society that seek to disrupt peace and harmony. He emphasized the collective responsibility of citizens in maintaining a peaceful environment for progress and prosperity.
With the inauguration of these infrastructure projects and the commitment to agricultural development, Jammu and Kashmir can look forward to further advancements and improved living conditions for its people.
