Previously, due to the lack of availability of thresher machines in rural areas, farmers had to rely on manual threshing which was a time-consuming and laborious task. However, thanks to the Jammu and Kashmir government's efforts to modernize the agricultural sector in the Union territory, farmers now have access to tractor thrashers to aid in their work.

Ashok Kumar, a young farmer from Kambal Danga Panchayat, shared his experience of facing hardships during the cutting of wheat crops as he used to do everything manually. However, he expressed gratitude towards the government's drive to modernize the agricultural sector, which has made the process of threshing wheat much easier.

Shashi Paul, the Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Kambal Danga of the Udhampur district, emphasized how the modernization of the agriculture sector has eased the work of farmers. He added that what used to take farmers 9-10 days can now be done in just a few hours.

Sanjeev Gupta, an agriculture extension officer, shared that they cover 21 Panchayats in the area, and under the guidance of the Agriculture Sub Divisional Officer, they conduct threshing of wheat crops in Kambal Danga Panchayat of the Udhampur district.

Shiv Parshotam Jyoti, the Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer in Udhampur, stated that they provide hybrid seeds to farmers, which has led to a bumper crop this year. However, recent unseasonal rainfall has caused damage to some crops in the area.

Overall, the use of modern agricultural technology has greatly benefited farmers in the Kambal Danga Panchayat by saving them time and energy while increasing productivity. The efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir government to modernize the agricultural sector are commendable, and will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the lives of farmers in the region.
