The admission process for Class 6 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) for the 2025-26 academic year is now officially open. Parents interested in enrolling their children can submit applications on the official JNV website, navodaya.gov.in, by the deadline of September 16, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria for Class 6 Admission

Students who have successfully completed Class 5 before the 2024-25 session are eligible to apply for Class 6 at JNV. Students currently studying in Class 5 can also apply, provided they are seeking admission in their home district, as applications are restricted to the Navodaya Vidyalaya located within the student’s home district. Parents are required to submit a residence certificate along with the application form to confirm eligibility. It is important to note that students can only attempt the Navodaya Vidyalaya entrance exam once.

To qualify for admission, students must have passed Classes 3, 4, and 5 at a government, government-aided, or recognized school. JNV reserves 75% of its seats for students from rural areas within each district, while the remaining 25% are available for both urban and rural students.

Admission Process

Admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is highly competitive, with selection based on the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). This national-level entrance exam evaluates students' proficiency in Mathematics, Mental Ability, and Regional Language.
