On Independence Day, farmers in Haryana's Jind district would hold a tractor rally and tableaus throughout the city against the Centre's farm bills, according to farmer leader Bijendra Sindhu, who also stated that no ministers will be allowed to hoist the tricolor on the event.

"On August 15, a tractor rally with tableaus will be held across the city (Jind)." Farmers will present a route plan suggestion for the rally to the district commissioner before the occasion,' said Sindhu, adding that both the national flag and the 'Kisan' flag will be placed on tractors.

In an interview with the media, the farmer leader stated that both national and 'Kisan' flags will be displayed on tractors taking part in the rally.

"None of the BJP leaders would be permitted to hoist the national flag," the farmers' leader said, adding that if a BJP leader comes to Jind, the farmers will not stop them or cause any inconvenience.

"Rather, our core committee will display black flags when they depart or arrive. National festivities, such as August 15, in my opinion, should not be impeded "Sindhu continued.

Rakesh Tikait, the leader of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), has praised the Jind farmers' plan to hold a tractor rally on August 15 as "revolutionary."

Previously, on January 26, during a farmer-organized 'tractor rally,' demonstrators burst over barricades to gain access to New Delhi and battled with police in various districts of the national capital.

The demonstrators also stormed the Red Fort, a famous Mughal-era structure, and hoisted their banners from its turrets.

Farmers have been opposing the three newly approved farm laws on the national capital's various borders since November 26 last year. Several rounds of talks between farmer leaders and the Centre have taken place, but the deadlock remains.
