The purpose of the meeting was to update all participants on the progress made in the preparations for World Food India-2023, scheduled to take place from November 3 to 5, 2023, in New Delhi. This meeting was a follow-up to the interaction held with the Committee members in May 2023.

During the meeting, Minhaj Alam, Additional Secretary, emphasized the crucial role of respective ministries and departments in creating a conducive ecosystem for infrastructure development, trade, and investment promotion in the food processing sector.

All central ministries and departments confirmed their participation in the event by securing exhibition space/stalls, taking part in technical sessions, and engaging in the Reverse Buyer Seller Meet, which is an integral part of the event.

The participating officers pledged their support for the event, including facilitating Buyer Seller Meets (BSM)/RBSM, engaging with startups, promoting special Ayush products, One District One Product (ODOP), and Geographical Indication (GI) products. The officers also shared information regarding the confirmed participation of exporters and buyers, as well as the outreach efforts undertaken by their respective organizations.

In order to ensure effective collaboration and execution of plans, the ministries and departments were requested to provide specific details of their participation and partnership in World Food India. Furthermore, the Investment Facilitation Cell (Invest India) and the event partner, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), were tasked with coordinating with the respective ministries and departments to facilitate the proposed action plan and seek necessary support from government bodies. The next meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee is scheduled to be held in July 2023 to discuss the partnership and participation of different stakeholders.
