A workshop on DEDS (Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme), submission of claims & Government sponsored schemes was held at GADVASU on 8.12.2017. The workshop was organized by NABARD, Ludhiana in collaboration with Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana. The workshop was attended by 30 officers from Dairy Development and Animal Husbandry Department, Bankers and progressive farmers. Dr H. K. Verma, DEE, GADVASU delivered a lecture on commercial dairy in promoting commercial dairy farming in the state wherein the different facilities and inputs like mineral mixture, uromin lick, literatures, Video CDs, ICT tools were explained to the delegates. The newer technologies like oral magnet, Mobile App., Zero wastage technology along with special services of GADVASU & out break facility, training and concept of Farmer Field School were also explained.
Sh Disbagh Singh, Deputy Director Dairy explained different Government schemes. Sh. Anoop Singh Chawla, Lead Development Manager (LDM) explained role of banks while sanctioning loans to progressive farmers. Incharge, RSETI, Ludhiana also participated in the Workshop.
Sh. Parveen Bhatia welcomed all the participants & explained different schemes of Govt. of India. The information regarding submissions of claims, Govt. schemes etc. were given. A lecture on Goatry was delivered by Dr. Mandeep Singla from LPM department.
The aim of workshop was development of Dairy in the region. Introduction cum updation of modern techniques along with live interactions with farmers was made.
