Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) is inviting applications for the post of General Assistant on a contractual basis till March 2023 at the Regional Research Station, Ballowal Saunkhri. Interested candidates should check out the job description provided below to know more about the role.

Job Position- General Assistant
Location- Regional Research Station, Ballowal Saunkhri
Pay Scale- Rs 11,902 (Fixed)
Employment Type- Selected candidate will be working on a contractual basis initially up to March 2023, provided in the scheme, “Facilitating effective functioning at PAU, misc. 08 (PC-4715).”
Age Limit- Candidates should be anywhere between the age of 18 to 37 years.
Required Qualification:

The selected candidate is required to be eligible for the following educational requirements to get the job:

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

Possesses at least one hundred- and twenty-hour course with hand on experience in the use of a personal computer or information technology in office productivity applications or Desktop publishing applications from a government-recognized institution or a reputed institution that is ISO 9001 certified.
OR

Possess a computer information technology course equivalent to an ‘O’ level certificate of the Department of Electronics, Accreditation of computer courses (DOEACC) of Govt. of India.

Matric level certificate of Punjabi languages from Punjab School Education Board or any other recognized Board (as a first or second language).
Selection Process:

The written test of 80 marks will be conducted on the OMR sheet. The written test will comprise multiple-choice type questions in Punjabi, English, Arithmetic of matric standard, and General Knowledge each consisting of 20 marks.

The candidates, on the basis of merit in the written test (which will be 10 times the posts to be filled) shall be called for a test of computer basics of 20 marks. The candidates must obtain 50% marks in the test of computer basics.
Test Structure:
On an OMR sheet, a written exam with multiple-choice questions will be conducted.
There will be 160 multiple-choice questions (40 each in each of the four subjects/sections: Punjabi, English, Arithmetic, and General Knowledge). There will be a 2-and-a-half-hour test window.
For the written examination, there will be a negative mark deducted. The candidate will receive one mark for each correct response, and a quarter of a mark will be subtracted for each incorrect response.
