Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, held a detailed discussion on June 12, 2024 with senior officials from the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department. The meeting focused on the implementation of a 100-day agricultural action plan, a commitment made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chouhan highlighted the need for a concentrated effort on farmer-oriented initiatives to ensure swift progress in alignment with the Prime Minister's vision.

During the meeting, Chouhan reviewed various aspects of the departmental action plan for the first 100 days of the Modi government’s third term. He instructed officials to adopt robust measures aimed at fortifying the agriculture sector and alleviating the challenges faced by farmers. A key directive was to prioritize the availability of quality fertilizers, seeds, and other essential inputs to farmers, ensuring that they do not encounter any difficulties in obtaining these resources.

Chouhan highlighted the critical need to boost agricultural production and productivity within the country. He advocated for a well-defined action plan that not only meets domestic demands but also enhances the export of high-quality agricultural products to international markets. This strategy, he noted, would contribute significantly to the overall economic growth of the agriculture sector.
