Between the farmer protests and the dead end between the Centre and the complaintive farmers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged folks to read through and share an e-booklet issued by the Indian government with information on how the recent agro-reforms facilitated farmers.

The e-booklet has been in both English and Hindi with highlights on the progress stories of farmers who have largely benefited from all the recent agro-reforms that came to effect from Sept.

“E-booklet contains a ton of content, together with graphics as well as booklets that explains how the latest Agro-reforms facilitated our farmers. It is available on the NaMo App - Volunteer Module’s Your Voice and Downloads sections. read through and share widely,” the PM tweeted along with sharing the snapshots of the pages of the Hindi version brochure.

Huge number of farmers, mostly from the Punjab and Haryana region, are complaining and fighting against the recent Farmers Empowerment and Protection Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020; the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020.

For interrupting and ending the protests, a minimum of 5 rounds of formal talks have taken place between the 3 Union Ministers and 40 farmer unions. The farmer unions are demanding a total rollback of the farm laws.

The Centre had sent out a proposal to those farmer unions last week, affirming that it will provide a written assertion that the MSP (minimum support price) system will stay in effect and additionally redress their alternative key issues, however it didn't break the gridlock.
